New York City t.error- your fear is an external object 02/20/2009

t.error opened on February 20th and extends through May 2nd. Violence, a deeply rooted human instinct, is one of the most important themes in visual depictions throughout human history. However, the increasing fear of death by contemporary Western societies is exploited by the media's interpretations and representations, and thus manipulates the viewers? relationship with violence. Seventeen international and Hungarian artists examine our innermost attitudes towards violence, fear, and visual stimulation in an era when the media?s depiction of violence seems alienated and distorted. Artists of the exhibition: Siemon Allen, Francois Bucher, Juan Manuel Echavarria, Ágnes Eperjesi, Rainer Ganahl, Attila Hetesi, Alia Hassan-Khan, Pia Lindman, Carlos Motta, Renata Poljak, Andrea Schneemeier, Jari Silomaki, Xaviera Simmons, Dezsó Szabó, János Sugár, Zsolt Vásárhelyi, Bryan Zanisnik.
